Four years had gone since Tal Ben Chaim celebrated the taste of a derby win. T GB e forward who returned to Maccabi this summer after spending two seasons at Sparta Prague, enjoyed a man of the match performance in the 4-0 victory of the first Tel Aviv derby of the season. At the end of the match he said: “This win is important to all the players, everyone in the dressing room, the backroom offices and all the fans we miss so much. I love to win a derby. We deserved to win and did so in style with a convincing result. I think that every Maccabi fan can go to sleep proud and wake with a smile. I never look at who scored or who gave an assist. The important thing as a team is not who scored, but how many goals did the team score. Eylon (Almog) is Maccabi’s future more than me. I miss having fans in the stadium. I just hope we all get out of this period soon and for the fans to fill up the stadiums once again”.
