Maccabi’s coach Vladimir Ivic didn’t hide his disappointment from the 0-0 draw against Ashdod SC on Saturday. At the end of the match the coach who saw his charges drop points for the first time this season, said: “We knew before the game that we should expect a tough opponent who played exactly how we expected them to play – with many players behind the ball. I believe that in the first half we were the better side, created enough chances to score but we can’t be satisfied with the result or our performance in parts of the game. There were moments that we played better and moments we didn’t make enough movements which is something we should work on”.
On his team’s inability to score for the first time in the league, Ivic added: “We need to improve our attacking game. We tried to do something a little different in the game with the players who played close to Eran (Zahavi) so they could reach chances. It was difficult. We didn’t score today which is the reason why we didn’t collect three points”.
