Maccabi dropped two points on Sunday night after being held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Hapoel Hadera. After the match, Dor Peretz remained adamant the tight schedule is the best remedy to return to winning ways. “At the end of the day with the tight schedule we have today and during this period, doesn’t leave us too much time to sink into the place of sulking over dropped points.” As The 28-year-old Maccabi midfielder, who is referring to the fact Maccabi has been playing matches on Sundays and Wednesdays on a regular basis, added: “We have the privilege of recovering quick between matches even when we drop points like we did today. Now we have a key game ahead of us on Wednesday as our target is to arrive prepared for that one.”
On the course of events which led to the 1-1 draw, Peretz said: “Against teams like Hadera you must not concede the first goal as it makes the match much more difficult, and you end up chasing. Luckily we managed to catch up and score an equalizer but we couldn’t score another and win the match. I think that even against a team like this, to get back in the game and get a draw at a tough match means something. This is nothing to be proud of as one can only be proud of a victory, but this is something we could draw positives from.”
Ahead of Wednesday’s top of the table clash and Maccabi’s lead over Haifa in the table, Peretz summed-up: “We always prepare ourselves to win every match as all we are interested in are the three points on Wednesday. Surely our coaching staff will prepare us properly for this match and we will do our share.”
