Maccabi began their preparations for the return leg against FK Panevezys as they held a training session in Vilnius before departing to Hungary where they host the Lithuanians on Thursday (21:30). Peretz: “Our target is to prepare well and be ready for our next match.”

Dor Peretz scored his first goal of the 2024/25 campaign on the way to Maccabi’s Europa League 3rd qualifying round first leg victory over FK Panevezys. The team remained at the Lithuanian capital after the match and held a practice session before heading for Szombathelyi, Hungary.

Peretz, reflected: “Yes it is a first goal this season and an important victory for the team. I think our target us to be well prepared and arrive ready for our next game so that we can complete the job by advancing to the next stage.”

The 29-year-old midfielder who is vastly experienced with Maccabi in Europe, added ahead of the second part of the two legged tie: “This is only the first half as we have good experience in Europe and nothing is decided in the first half of a match. We still have one game to play and a full week to prepare both physically and in terms of the guidelines and principals our coach demands from us. Our preparations started today, we have a long week ahead and mainly wish for some quiet times back home and only good news.”
