In response to the draw which teamed Maccabi up with Swiss Champions FC Basel in the Playoff of the Champions League Group stage, captain Eran Zahavi told the club's official website: "It's a tough draw but I believe in our team and convinced that we can do it. In order to reach the Champions League Group Stages one has to overcome hurdles and to suffer in the process. I am waiting for the first match and certain that we will arrive with confidence and courage in order to qualify".
