Maccabi Tel Aviv beat HaPoel Acco 2-0 by an own goal by Imoro Lukman and another goal by Eliran Atar just one minute to halftime. Atar's goal also took him to the top of the list of scorers with an average of one goal in each of the last seven rounds. Most of the game was relaxed and no dangerous situations were reported by both goals, but at the end, the yellow team enjoys its best league opening of the last 16 seasons. Next week, Maccabi Tel Aviv will host HaPoel Ramat Gan at the Moshava Stadium in Petach Tikva due to the seeding taking place at Bloomfield.
The first half was conducted mostly on the host's half of the field, but there were not many opportunities near David Goresh's goal. Just six minutes from the start of the game, a corner ball by Mehran Radi to the center of the five-yard box hit Imoro Lukman's head and flew into the goal. Despite the advantage, Maccabi Tel Aviv players continued to possess the ball and play patiently, but they did not seem threatening. Toward the end of the half, Gonzalo made his attempt with two kicks that went over the goal and, after he did not succeed, Attar assisted with the second. Gonzalo's chip over the defense found Attar open in the penalty area and the latter kicked the ball with his left foot into the corner of the goal.
As the second half started, Mehran Radi made an attempt from the end of the penalty box after intercepting the ball from HaPoel Acco's defense. Despite the enthusiasm, the game continued at the same pace as the first half. Gal Alberman and Hasan Abu-Zaid were injured and replaced by Lugasi and Dahan, maintaining the balance at the center of the field. Moanes Dabour, who came back after a double for the junior national team, joined the game 10 minutes to the end instead of Gonzalo, but did not leave his mark. After three minutes of overtime, the referee ended the game and granted the yellow team its sixth victory in the first seven rounds.
