An advantage goal by Atar at the beginning of the second half was not enough for Maccabi Tel Aviv, which suffered an equallising goal by Moyal
After the impressive victory over Bnei Sakhnin in the previous round, Maccabi Tel Aviv took the guest position against Beitar Jerusalem at the Ramat Gan Stadium in a game that ended with a 1-1 tie score. The yellow team arrived at the game concluding the first Premier League round, knowing that victory here would put it back at first place following HaPoel Tel Aviv's tied score last night. The heavy rain affected the game and after a mediocre first half, Atar scored Maccabi Tel Aviv's goal in the second half. Kobi Moyal tied the game for Beitar Jerusalem, which hosted the game in Ramat Gan due to a radius penalty.

The 28,000 spectators, who came to Ramat Gan to see the intriguing bout between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Beitar Jerusalem, were welcomed with a first half of a lot of rain and a few opportunities. The two teams found it difficult to move the ball and develop a worthy football game, and it was Eytan Tibi who was closest to scoring in two opportunities from fixed positions. The blue and yellow team, playing in white for the first time this season, continued to be more of a threat during the first half, when Colautti and Radi tried to find the goal with kicks from afar.
Maccabi Tel Aviv, in white uniform, continued the momentum into the second half, especially this season's star – Eliran Atar – who did not let the cold get to him. At Minute 50, Atar received a long ball from Radi and, with a strong kick outside of the penalty area; he kept his goal per game average with his 13th in 13 rounds. At Minute 63, immediately after Dabour nearly increased Maccabi Tel Aviv's advantage, the hosts got back into the game with Kobi Moyal, who headed the ball in from up close. Maccabi Tel Aviv failed to regain the advantage and ended the game with their first tie score of the season.
Despite the tie, Maccabi Tel Aviv is ending the first round in first place with the same number of points as its city rival, HaPoel Tel Aviv. The second season, starting next week, will begin with another big game as Maccabi Haifa awaits them in Kiryat Eliezer.
