Double-scorer in last night's convincing 6-2 victory over Hapoel Haifa, Moanes Dabbur, explains the final score:  "We went out there focused  on ourselves and we came out on top"

Last night witnessed Maccabi Tel Aviv's best attacking performance of the season so far, with six goals finding a new home in the net of Hapoel Haifa. The two goals the Yellows suffered in return reduced the goal difference to four, but the most important four registered at the end of the night was the one separating Maccabi Tel Aviv from their nearest rivals in the league table, Hapoel Tel Aviv. A brilliant night for Yellow that included a brace from Moanes Dabour, a fine effort from Maharan Radi, a low drive from Yoav Ziv off a back heel from Eliran Atar, a maiden goal from Gael Margolis in the first team and a blistering long-range shot by Sheran Yeini off the inside of the top crossbar.

About this superlative performance by his club manager Oscar Garcia had this to say: "In almost every stage of the match we gave 100% and that's the most important thing we did tonight. Even when we were leading with six goals everyone out there carried on playing, pressing the opposition and moving forward and that's the best thing for me. I always keep both feet on the ground, I don't get too excited about the match even though it was a good win for us, and really important too. But it's just three points. This is one for the fans to savour, and starting tomorrow we'll begin to think about the match next week with Kiryat Shmone."

Double-scorer Moanes Dabbur added: "We went out there tonight with only one thing in mind – to win. We knew it wouldn't be easy, but we made it easy for ourselves. I'm glad we scored early on. We went out there focused only on ourselves and not on Hapoel and we came out on top."

The team's skipper, who celebrated his first goal of the season in style, was happy with the game and explained how he got his foot on the ball. "That kick was one in a million. I'm glad we finally took our chances, because we had a few more tonight that we didn't convert, so it was nice to score six in the end. I just hope we'll keep it up."

Dor Micha, in the starting eleven for the second week running, was also very pleased with his side's performance. "We had a great game today. Even though we back pedaled a few times and let them go at us, this is the way we should be playing, that's what we're capable of even though I think we can be even better."
