Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club have thrown their full weight behind efforts to rid Israel's football stadiums of racism in all its guises, launching a campaign that has the full support of all the players
Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club have launched a campaign to combat racist chanting in Israeli football, at stadiums in general and at Maccabi Tel Aviv matches in particular. The Club have decided to invest resources, time and effort in preventing the expression of racist sentiments of any kind at any of the games played by Maccabi Tel Aviv, and to that end have launched a campaign with the full support of all the players with the motto "Give Racism the Boot". Seven Maccabi Tel Aviv players – Eliran Atar, Gal Alberstein, Vincent Enyeama, Moannes Dabbur, Robert Earnshaw, Maharan Radi and captain Sheran Yeini, took time out of their busy training schedules to come to Bloomfield Stadium to participate in a film shoot launching the campaign. The international midfielder Radi, who himself has been the subject of racist taunts, had this message for all Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters: "I'm asking all you wonderful fans, please don't let a few villains spoil the fun".
