Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth teams won their national Cup ties to reach the last 16. The younger teams returned to the league
Maccabi Tel Aviv's Under-15s to 17s took a break from their league duties for a round of national Cup ties. After beating Shimshon Tel Aviv in the first round, the Under-17s hosted Gadna Tel Aviv at Kiryat Shalom training ground, winning 3-0 and guaranteeing their spot in the competition's final 16. All of the goals came within six minutes early in the second half. Defender Ofek Barazani and midfielder Maxim Gerchkin scored their maiden goals of the season while striker Suheil Armeli scored his seventh in all competitions. Next Saturday, coaches Ziv Arie and Avi Yehiel's players will return to the league, where they stand second in the table, just one point off the pace.
Maccabi's Under-16s had a rougher time, but they too made it to the next round after beating Hapoel Ramat Hasharon away, 1-2. Tom Zaguri scored his fifth goal of the season in all competitions and the leading scorer for Maccabi Tel Aviv "Eli Fuchs", Hadar Levy, scored the second goal of the game with his 12th goal in all of this season's competitions. Both Under-15 teams also made it through their National Cup rounds successfully. Maccabi Tel Aviv "Eldad" beat Bnei Yehuda with a brace by Omer Lakao, making them eligible to advance in the competition. Maccabi's Under 15 Team 2's match against Beitar Tubruk ended in a 1-1 draw, but they prevailed in a penalty shoot-out and will also play in the last 16 of the National Cup competition for their age group.
Maccabi's younger teams focused on league duties, with Under 14 Team South playing out a goalless draw against "big" derby rivals Hapoel Tel Aviv and North losing a "little" derby to Bnei Yehuda 1-0. Maccabi Tel Aviv's Under-13 teams were both winners by wide margins, North beating Beitar Jerusalem 7-2 and South Section Nes Tsiona 6-0.
