Maccabi Tel Aviv captain, Sheran Yeini, has received his first call-up for the Israeli national squad in advance of an intense day of training and a practise match against the youth national side

On Wednesday Israel's national team will enter a day of intensive training, without their players abroad, that will include morning pratice and a practise match against the youth national team. Maccabi captain Sheran Yeini has been called up for the senior squad for the first time in his career, after ten appearances for the national youth team and being capped for the under 21 squad for the European Championships in 2007. Yeini had this to say to the official Maccabi Tel Aviv website: "I'm happy to get the call-up for the national team, happy too to know I'm one of six Maccabi Tel-Aviv players in the squad."
 
For the day's practice Sheran will be joined by five other Maccabi Tel Aviv players: Eitan Tibi, Yoav Ziv, Gal Alberman, Maharan Radi and Eliran Atar. Four of Maccabi's younger stars – Omer Vered, Moanes Dabbur, Moshe Lugassi and Dor Micha – have been called up for the youth national squad for the same intensive training day, which will take place this week at the the national team headquarters at Kibbutz Shefayim.
