Maccabi Tel Aviv's Under-17s continued their winning ways and widened the gap at the top of the table. The Under-16s lost at home
Maccabi Tel Aviv's Under-17s continued their impressive run of victories on Saturday with a 3-1 home defeat of Bnei Yehuda at Kiryat Shalom training ground. In a match that pitted the top table Maccabi youths against their third placed rivals, the victory afforded Maccabi Tel Aviv "Oded" a golden opportunity to widen the gap with second placed Hapoel Tel Aviv, who lost their match at the week-end, to eight points at the end of matchweek 13. Sohil Armeli, Yonatan Cohen and Matan Hozaz all added to their goal scoring tallies. For both Armeli and Cohen these were their tenth goals this season in all competitions, for Hozaz his sixth.
Maccabi's Under-16s suffered their third loss of the season with a 1-2 home defeat against the national Under-17 Premier League South leaders Maccabi Petah Tikva. Tel Aviv's Ilan Yerushalmi's goal in stoppage time came too late to salvage any points after the visitors scored two quick goals in the second half. Maccabi's Under-15 Team 2 however continued their league campaign more successfully as head coach Haim Siton's lads came up with their third consecutive victory, a convincing 9-1 home triumph over southern rivals Bnei Eilat at Kiryat Shalom.
This Saturday also saw Cup play with the Under-14s playing to advance in State Cup competition. Team South succeeded in advancing to the next round with a 3-0 home win against Hapoel Tel Sheva. Maccabi Tel Aviv's Team North were not so lucky and were forced out of the Cup competition with a 1-0 away defeat to Maccabi Haifa/Nahalal. Maccabi's Under-13 Team North however did advance after a 2-0 home victory over Hapoel Ramat Hasharon.
