Gyori head coach Attila Pinter, at a news conference in advance of his side's match against Maccabi Tel Aviv: "We want to win every match"
Maccabi Tel Aviv's rivals in their second round Champions League play-off, the Hungarian champions Gyori ETO FC, held their traditional press conference in advance of the match tomorrow, attended by the club manager Attila Horvath, head coach Attila Pinter and team captain, goalkeeper Sasha Stevanovic. The 47 year-old Pinter will be watching the match from the terraces, the result of a touchline ban he received in August 2010 in a match against Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, and his place will be taken by assistant coach Jozsef Farkas. "I may not be sitting in the dugout or have direct contact with the players but I expect my assistant Jozsef Farkas will be taking my place and we'll be briefing our players regarding every possible scenario and we hope they'll take it to heart", he said at the press conference. "We want to win every match, just like the Supercup, my philosophy is that hard work always brings the desired result. We'll be training today and we'll have a look at the situation regarding injuries and I believe that by tomorrow we should have our starting line-up ready".
He also spoke about opponents Maccabi Tel Aviv and the atmosphere in his country in the run up to the match: "Right now I feel the same way I did before the match against Montpellier. Then there was very little interest in the match by the local media, just as now there are few representatives of the press here. Let's see what happens when the match is over. I've seen Maccabi Tel Aviv play three matches and they're a quick side that play attacking football and it's not for nothing they won the title by a margin of 13 points. Maccabi have very fast players and we don't expect them to play any differently against us tomorrow but of course we'll be out to get the best possible result we can".
Goalkeeper and captain Sasha Stevanovic added: "I'm asking all our fans to come out to cheer us on because we need to have as many fans as possible out there supporting us. We have a number of players who were in the play-off against Montpellier a few years ago and I'm sure that if we can play the game with the same attitude as we did in the Supercup we'll get the result we're looking for".
Tonight Maccabi Tel Aviv will also be holding a press conference in advance of the match, after which they will head off for a practice at the match venue. Hundreds of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are expected at the match tomorrow to cheer their team on. At the end of the press conference club manager Attila Horvath said a word about the security arrangements: "So far security is concerned this match is highly sensitive so each supporter will be required to provide detailled personal identification in order to enter the stadium'.
