Despite an upbeat week for the club, Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Carlos Garcia cautioned that a lot of work still needs to be done: "Right now our only concern is the match with Kiryat Shmona"
Three days after the overwhelming victory against Maccabi Haifa and two days before the home tie against Ironi Kiryat Shmona, Maccabi Tel Aviv held their weekly press conference ahead of an evening practice at their Kiryat Shalom training ground. Understandably questions abounded about the team's triumph in Haifa but defender Carlos Garcia took pains to clarify where the focus of the squad lay in the run up to this Saturday's home match against Ironi Kiryat Shmona: "Haifa is history for me already, starting Tuesday morning the only match on my mind is the one against Kiryat Shmona. I can understand that the fans are still celebrating, but we have to get our sights on the next match. Obviously the win in Haifa contributes to our self-confidence, and it demonstrates that our approach to the match was the right one, but now we have to get focused on the next match".
