Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Yoav Ziv and striker Gael Margulies emerged winners of the "Two-on-Two" competition held at a team practice held without the MTA players on international duty
Eight Maccabi Tel Aviv senior squad players – Eitan Tibi, Omri Ben Harush, Sheran Yeini, Mahran Radi, Gal Alberman, Eran Zahavi, Tal Ben Haim and Barak Itzhaki – are this week on international duty, joined by four young MTA stars – goalkeeper Barak Levi, striker Munas Dabbur and midfielders Omri Altman and Dor Micha. The eleven remaining senior squad members not on international duty held a morning practice that included a "Two-on-Two" competition (sides of two playing one another) and defender Yoav Ziv and striker Gael Margulies emerged winners, with midfielders Moshiko Lugassi and Nikola Mitrovich close behind in second place. Defender Carlos Garcia and striker Rade Prica came in third. The competition included runs and goal kicks and at its finish all the three winning pairs received a gift package from Maccabi Tel Aviv sponsors, the NIVEA skincare company. These packages included NIVEA products, gift coupons for the NIVEA merchandise shop and an elegant football cup.
The reduced squad will continue to train next week without their twelve internationals, including a friendly next Tuesday against the Maccabi's Under-19 squad at the Kiryat Shalom training ground. The match will begin at 4.30pm at the Youth Division's central pitch and will be open to the public.
