This Saturday, Maccabi Tel Aviv's Under-19s will play their first Tel Aviv derby against Hapoel, the Under-16s will visit municipal neighbours Bnei Yehuda for a "little" derby
This Saturday's schedule of matches has served up an interesting week-end in the Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Division. The Under-19s, Maccabi Tel Aviv "Shachar", await one of the more intriguing ties of the season as their counterparts at Hapoel Tel Aviv pay a visit to Kiryat Shalom training ground at 12pm for the first derby of the season, a match to be broadcast on the Israeli sports channel Sport 5. Earlier in the day at 8.30am the Under-17s will try to stay in the race for the league's top position, or better yet recapture it, when they host Beitar Tubruk. The Under-16s will be out to maintain their impressive perfect form of the first nine matchweeks of the season as they board the bus for the short trip to municipal neighbours Bnei Yehuda for an early 8.30am encounter. Under the expert stewardship of head coach Shlomi Mtelka, the Under-15s, Maccabi Tel Aviv "Eldad", will head north to Nahalal training ground for a midday encounter with Maccabi Haifa. The Under-15 team 2, whose run of eight consecutive wins was halted only last week, will try to return to their winning ways when Maccabi Petach Tikva pay a visit to Kiryat Shalom at 8.30.
The younger Maccabi competitors will also be in action this week-end as Maccabi's Under-14 team South head south to Reiser field to face Hapoel Beer Sheva at 1.15pm. Team North will test out the recently rejuvenated East pitch at Kiryat Shalom when they meet Maccabi Herzliya at 10.15am. At the very same time the Under-13 team South will host Maccabi Haifa on the synthetic pitch. Team North are scheduled for an away tie with Maccabi Petach Tikva at 8.30am.
