Jacqueline Herzikovich, chairperson of the "Hamaccabim" Association, passed away last night at the age of 87. Mother of former Maccabi Tel Aviv owner Loni Herzikovich, Jacqueline was one of the founders of the renowned Israeli Isfar home tech company and was closely involved with day-to-day events at the Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club. In her capacity as chairperson of the "Hamaccabim" Association she co-ordinated the activities of the association, whose objectives are that of harnessing the immense popularity of football as a means of promoting social mobility and as an educational tool through the combination of an athletic and a learning framework that encourages competition and achievement in a supportive social environment.
