After Sunday night's victory over Bnei Sakhnin, Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach Paulo Sousa answered questions about the arrival of the two new players, striker Barak Badash and French-born fullback Remi Mareval. Rade Prica: "Because of the competition we'll get even better"
After Maccabi Tel Aviv's victory over Bnei Sakhnin last Sunday in Netanya, head coach Paulo Sousa took a moment to answer questions about the two new players who have joined the Maccabi ranks during this January's transfer window. He is convinced that both striker Barak Badash, who arrived from Ironi Kiryat Shmona, and French-born fullback Remi Mareval, who transferred from Belgian side Gent, will add extra quality to the squad :"I think they have quite characteristic differences from the players we have. We are short on players and I remember for a while we spoke about the numbers on our squad, and now you see from those numbers that we're a bit short, especially in defence. For that we're looking to get extra players in to help us. But all our boys always receive the new players they integrate really well, help them understand everything that needs to be done at each position, get them to integrate into the squad and perform and help us win".

He spoke further about the French-born fullback Remi Mareval, a player he faced twice as head coach of Hungarian champions Videoton when they played Mareval's former club Gent in the Europa League: "He's a player with a lot of experience, tactically and with the intensity of his career so far, playing in countries and leagues where the intensity is high. We've also lots of tactical demands, and for that I expect a player who can perform, who can help us, who can understand quite quickly because he has just six months more or less ahead of him to understand everything we're looking for".
Regarding the addition of another striker, Barak Badash, to the squad, Maccabi's Swedish striker Rade Prica added: "It's always good to have competition, and we feel the team will grow because of the competition and we'll get even better. The games I've seen him play in he's been a very good player and it's what we need, we need good players".
