The MTA squad have conducted their maiden practice at their training camp near the Austrian town of Graz
This afternoon the Maccabi Tel Aviv squad conducted their first practice at their training complex in the Austrian village of Bad Waltersdorf, already familiar to a number of squad members who have trained there with the Israeli national team. Defenders Yoav Ziv and Yuval Shpungin, midfielders Eran Zahavi and Gal Alberman, winger Tal Ben Haim and goalkeeping coach Shura Uvarov are all among the current MTA squad who trained at this luxury complex under Luis Fernández, head coach of the Israeli national team in the 2010-11 season. Among other notable groups to have trained in Bad Waltersdorf are the Czech national team and European clubs like Germany's Borussia Dortmund and England's Arsenal, West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers.
After the practice the players were treated to an ice bath that straddled the training pitch. Tomorrow the team will play their first pre-season friendly against Austrian third division side SC Weiz.
