Diana Reedman, member of Israel's Women's national side, paid a visit today to a Maccabi Tel Aviv training session
Diana Reedman, footballer and member of Israel's Women's national side, paid a visit today (Thursday) to a Maccabi Tel Aviv training session. Reedman, who plays in central midfield, has been a regular member of the national squad for the past eight years and is now undergoing trials at the Houston Dash, who play in the American National Women's Soccer League. On Saturday night at 8.30pm, Reedman will be a part of the Israel national side who play their counterparts from Iceland at the national stadium in Ramat Gan in a qualifying match for the 2015 Women's World Cup. Israel are now placed second in group B with six points after victories over Malta and Serbia, with one loss to Switzerland. Speaking to the official Maccabi Tel Aviv website, Reedman said: "I'm here in Israel for just a few days for the match against Iceland. Through an acquaintance of mine at the Maccabi playing staff I received this invitation to attend a practice at Kiryat Shalom. At training sessions in America we hardly touch the ball for the first hour. I hope the fast-paced practise games I witnessed today from head coach Paulo Sousa will be a source of inspiration for me against Iceland. Since Maccabi aren't playing on Saturday night, we'd be happy to see the club's fans come to Ramat Gan to support us and create the kind of positive atmosphere they do in the league".
