Maccabi Tel Aviv will launch their 2014/15 European campaign in the Champions League 2nd round qualifiers against either Andorran Santa Coloma or Armenian FC Banants
Moments ago in the Swiss town of Nyon, UEFA opened the 2014/15 European competition season with draws for the first two qualifying rounds of the Champions League. Israeli title holders Maccabi Tel Aviv, who will make their seeded entry only in the 2nd of those two rounds, were drawn against the winners of a two-leg contest between FC Santa Coloma and FC Banants Yerevan, domestic champions of Andorra and Armenia respectively, who were coupled in the 1st round draw. The first leg will be held in Andorra on either Tuesday the 1st or Wednesday the 2nd of July, with the return leg moving to Yerevan on the opposite day a week later. The aggregate winner will then arrive in Israel to play Maccabi on Tuesday the 15th or Wednesday the 16th of July, with the return leg on the opposite day a week later at the first round winner's home ground.
