Next Friday the first ever Maccabi Tel Aviv Marathon will be held at Hayarkon Park
On Friday October 10th the Maccabi Tel Aviv Sport Club, an association uniting 13 Olympic sport branches in Israel, will launch a project under the name "Running with the Champions" with a first ever marathon at Hayarkon Park in north Tel Aviv. The marathon will begin at 7am at the "Sportek" sports complex and offer runners a choice of several different courses: 5 and 10 kilometre courses for advanced runners of all ages and levels, a 2 kilometre competitive race with children participating in Sport Club activities and a 200 metre course for "runners of the future", with no minimum age limit for the participants. In addition to the marathon itself, runners and their families will have the opportunity to meet with players from various Maccabi Tel Aviv Sport Club teams. Participation in the marathon is free of charge.
Marathon schedule
5.30am – registration points open
7.00am – start of 10 kilometre course*
8.00am – start of 5 kilometre course
8.30am – warm-up for all participants in the 2 kilometre course
8.45am – start of 2 kilometre course for children up to age 14
9.15am – start of 200 metre course for "runners of the future"
9.30am – post-run group workout at the central marathon stage
9.40am – closing ceremony

Other changes in the marathon schedule may be made in accordance with instructions from the emergency health services (Magen David Adom), the police, or the Hayarkon Park authority.
