Despite a change in the indictment, Carlos Garcia has been sentenced to 20 hours community service at a children's hospital
Maccabi Tel Aviv and Carlos Garcia appeared today at the Israel Football Association court for the continuation of the deliberations regarding the defender's conduct during the disturbances at this month's Tel Aviv Derby. The original indictment against him was changed from inappropriate behaviour under aggravated circumstances to attempted inappropriate behaviour, as his hand movements could have been interpreted as a call to supporters to invade the pitch. Despite this change, the Association's prosecutor reached a plea agreement with Maccabi Tel Aviv's representatives that Carlos will serve a sentence of 20 hours community service at a children's hospital and receive a suspended sentence of a one-match ban in the event of a recurrence of the offence.
The full text of the court's decision will be published in the near future.
