On Saturday night, Maccabi can break a club record of league match time without conceding but goalkeeper Juan Pablo declares: "Most important is to try to win the three points"

Evidence from Maccabi Tel Aviv's recent away encounters at Ashdod is perhaps not terribly encouraging, but this coming Saturday night the team will make another attempt to turn things around. The local "Hayud Alef" Stadium has been the scene of Maccabi's longest run of unsuccessful results of any Israeli Premier League venue, but the team's first-choice keeper, Juan Pablo, promises the team are determined to put that to one side: "They are really really strong, it's a difficult stadium of course, because of the fans. But I hope all of the fans will be there for us too, trying to support us. We'll try to do our best so I think we can win".

Another notable statistic going into this match is that if Maccabi go 77 minutes without conceding they'll break the club's all-time record, established in the 1974/75 season, of consecutive league match minutes without seeing the opposition score. Juan Pablo: "It means the team are working in defence very well. Of course for us it's a very good thing but most important is to try to win the three points, to keep fighting for the first position in the league and we'll try to do our best. We know it's a very difficult game against a very difficult team. I can tell you first of all we'll try to win and after that if we can keep our goal without a goal it will be perfect. But the most important thing is the team so we'll try to win. This is the first target".

Ticket sales for the match are still underway, as well as for Maccabi's mid-week State Cup tie against Hapoel Ashkelon at Bloomfield Stadium, Tuesday Ja. 27th at 9pm.
