Ahead of Sunday's tie at Maccabi Netanya, Eytan Tibi talked to the Maccabi Tel Aviv official website crew: "This one won't be as easy"

On Sunday night at 8.55pm, Maccabi Tel Aviv will travel the short distance up the coast to face an in-form Maccabi Netanya in matchweek 21 of the Israeli Premier ("Winner") League. And it was in an away encounter with Maccabi Netanya that defender Eytan Tibi made his maiden appearance for Maccabi Tel Aviv two and a half years ago. "This one won't be as easy as our other encounters this season, and even they weren't that easy. Netanya have played very well in their last few matches and have improved a lot. But like with every other match, we're only focused on ourselves and we're we're looking to go out there and win".

This will be Maccabi Tel Aviv's fifth league match at Netanya Stadium this season and as in the previous four appearances, a huge crowd of visiting fans are expected: "I hope they'll be as many fans as possible, that'll be very good for us. For us, away games always feel like home games, that's what our fans do for us and that's really important. At Maccabi the fans are amazing, and their support at the derby this week was unbelievable. But I'm not surprised, I've felt the same thing at every match I've played for Maccabi in the last three years and it's only getting stronger. I'm really happy I've been given the privilege to be at this club and around such a fantastic group of supporters".

The central defender stressed that last week's derby victory has not blinded the team to the tasks still ahead: "What happened at the derby is past tense. We still have a long way to go and our objective is to take the title this season, to carry on with our present form and our run of victories and like for every match to win". And now that Tibi has already had the opportunity to train with Gili Vermouth, we asked him the question that's on everyone's lips at the moment.  What did he think of the team's newest acquisition? "Gili is an excellent player, a player with special qualities and I'm happy he'll be playing on our side. I'm confident he'll be contributing a lot and I wish him every success".
