Tonight Maccabi Tel Aviv face Ironi Kiryat Shmona in the first leg of their State Cup quarter final tie.
This won't be the first time Maccabi are involved in a quarter final State Cup tie played over two legs. The last time that happened though was 23 years ago, in the 1991/92 season, when they beat municipal archrivals Hapoel Tel Aviv twice, 0-3 away and 3-1 at home. And coincidentally, if new number 28 Gili Vermouth takes part in the action tonight, he will have become the 28th Maccabi player to appear in one of the club's official matches this season.
