Tonight, Maccabi Tel Aviv became the first team in the history of Israeli football to win the treble. Maccabi crushed Hapoel Be’ersheva 6:2 at Sammy Ofer Stadium and won the State Cup for the first time in a decade.
The game started in a mesmerizing atmosphere, both teams tested each other with counter attacks, but were not able to create any serious attempts on goal. It was in the 21st minute when Maccabi amazed the crowd in Sammy Ofer as Rade Prica scored from a close range after a marvelous assist by Dor Micha, 1:0 to Maccabi!
Maccabi’s second goal arrived only six minutes later when it was Rade Prica’s turn to provide the assist. Yoav Ziv received a great ball from Prica inside the 16 yard box, and scored with his knee to double the lead to 2:0 Maccabi. At the 34th minute Hapoel Be’ersheva scored their debut goal, Stephan Hoban scored with a powerfull kick to the left side of Juan Pablo’s goal. 2:1 Maccabi at half time.
The second half started with a blitz. A corner from the right side delivered by Maharan Radi found Rade Prica who headed the ball into the back of the net 3:1 Maccabi.
Maccabi kept on the pressure and on the 52nd minute it was the amazing Rade Prica who scored his hatrick, it was Dor Micha who once again provided a great assist 4:1 Maccabi. Be’ersheva managed to narrow the gap as Maor Buzaglo fired a shot to Pablo’s top right corner 4:2 on the 57th minute. The goals kept on coming and only one minute after conceding, Rade Prica provided another great assist to Eran Zahavi who scored Maccabi’s fifth goal of the match 5:2 Maccabi. Believe it ot not, there was still time for another goal, Maharan Radi scored with his left foot, as he kicked a powerfull shot to the bottom right corner, and set the game's result 6:2 to Maccabi!
