Coach Pako AYESTARAN did not hide his disappointment after a 0-3 loss to Beitar Jerusalem
Maccabi Tel Aviv players were disappointed to lose in Teddy after the heights of last week. Coach Pako Ayestaran was not happy with his team’s performance:
“We felt that we were not focused right from the start of the game and we clearly didn’t compete in the same way we have done in the rest of the season. Sometime the players switch off after a successful season but I don’t think this is something you should do. We lost the game at the first half. At the second half we tried to score and close the gap but we were not able to do so. “
Coach Pako commented on his half time team talk:
“The problem is that we didn’t compete at the first half and it is not fair for the rest of the league. You could feel the tension when we were fighting for the championship and today we couldn’t show the same intensity. It happens, but it is not something I like. I think that you have to try to keep your prestige, but we clearly didn't do that tonight.”
