The Ligat Ha'Al schedule for 2015/16 was drawn in the same fashion, as schedule option six was chosen for the league which begins on August 22nd. The Yellow-and-Blue will face Bnei Sakhnin in their opening match that will take place at Bloomfield Stadium. Some of the hilights will see Maccabi visit Hapoel Beer Sheva on Matchday Two and then head up to Kiryat Shemona on Matchday Three. The Israeli Classico between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa will take place at Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa on Matchday Five while Maccabi will host Beitar Jerusalem on Matchday Eight. The "Tel Aviv Derby" will finally happen on Matchday Nine with Hapoel hosting the game.
After the league schedule was drawn, Maccabi Tel Aviv technical director Jordi Cruyff commented on the matches: "We were handed a tough draw to begin the season with 3 away matches against top clubs in the first five games but we can't complain as we will face every team at least twice. On the other hand it's great that we are opening the season at Bloomfield."
