Eli Dasa made his first appearance for the National Team last night and he discussed the upcoming challenges and playing with his Maccabi teammates while wearing the Blue-and-White:
“I’m happy that I made my National Team debut. It was important to play well and collect the points. Now we’re looking forward to Wales. We came into the Andorra match as if we were playing Wales and prepared for our next opponent. We made sure not to be haughty and high on ourselves and you could see that on the pitch. We have a very tough match in front of us and it’s a very important game.”
On playing with his Yellow-and-Blue teammates with the National Team:
“It’s much simpler when you know how to play with teammates you are familiar with and there’s no question that it’s easier to play with guys you’re used to.”
Making his debut in the Blue-and-White:
“It’s every child’s dream to play for the National Team. I’m happy I made my start on the right foot and I hope to continue this way. When you set goals for yourself its doesn’t matter when you reach them and one you do then you can set the next set of goals and so forth. In the next match our opponent will be much tougher but and I’ve made some good strides in my defensive work. This was the first thing that Maccabi coach Slavisa Jokanovic said to me and that I also need to work on my offense as well. I’m sure I will be able to find the right balance.”
