Maccabi Tel Aviv & Israel National team defender Eitan Tibi has been in terrific form as of late and his play has been phenomenal for both the Yellow-and-Blue and the Blue-and-White. Tibi spoke about what it’s like to play with his Maccabi teammates, the upcoming match against Wales and the goals that lie ahead.
On playing with his Maccabi teammates on the National Team:
“It’s always great to be with the National Team and it’s true we have many Maccabi Tel Aviv players here so it’s easier to acclimate ourselves and we know each other much better. It was very important that we won the game and took the three points and now we are looking forward to Wales.”
Facing Wales will be a tough challenge:
“We had a tough time here at home in Israel against Wales and they are a great team. The table doesn’t lie and we are still in 3rd place while they are in first. We will work hard against Wales and we will need to come away with some points because that’s what we need to do and I hope we will.”
Tibi also talked about the National Team goals:
“There’s no question that advancing to the Champions League was a historical moment for us and is incredible but right now all of the Maccabi players are cheering on the Israel National Team and we have our own goals with the National Team to advance to the Euro 2016 Tournament. It’s an important goal and a goal for the whole country and I hope we will be able to reach it.”
