Maccabi Tel Aviv’s official Instagram account is celebrating its 30 thousandth follower and joins the 136,866 Facebook LIKES, so now seems to be a good time to share some social network facts with you as our social status continues to grow. 
The picture filter that is used the most is Ludwig 15.2% of the time. There have been over a million LIKES in total for all of Maccabi’s posts and the most popular was the “Thank You” tribute for former ‘keeper Juan Pablo which received 4,811 LIKES. In second place was the draw against FC Basel at Bloomfield with 4,537 LIKES and 302 comments.
There are many Maccabi players with Instagram accounts including Barak Itzhaki having the most with 37,657 followers, ‘keeper Predrag Rajkovic who has 33,940 followers while the Yellow-and-Blue captain Eran Zahavi has 33,690. Our Instagram account follows 28 others including the professional staff, sponsors, the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club, the club photographer and our Champions League opponents. Chelsea one of our rivals in European play has the most of any other club in our group with 4 million followers.
The first photo on our Instagram account 104 weeks ago was that of Barak Itzhaki celebrating and received 168 LIKES with four comments. We haven’t stopped since
then and posted 1,421 more pictures.
Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Instagram account is the largest of any other Israeli League teams with Maccabi Haifa in second spot with 13,248 followers and Hapoel Tel Aviv with 10,321 in third position.
Just two weeks ago Instagram announced that they now have over 400 million users with over 100 million alone joining in the last nine months. Instagram has now passed Twitter to become the second largest social network in the world.
