Maccabi Tel Aviv returned to training today at Kiryat Shalom as they prepared for the upcoming Winner League Matchday Eleven. Just prior to beginning the practice session, the club hosted 35 UNICEF children at Maccabi’s training facility. The students, some of which came from a mixed Jewish & Arab school in Lod presented the “Convention on the Rights of the Child”.
The 14 year-olds who were present at the event are part of the close relationship between Maccabi Tel Aviv and UNICEF that began last season and has continued into the current year. The Maccabi Tel Aviv players distributed gifts to the children from the club and Winner.
After meeting the first team players, the children got together with Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Under-14 team and discussed the “Convention on the Rights of the Child” where they learnt about children’s rights and more.
