Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv landed last night in Kiev along with the first team and are getting ready for their Matchday six encounter against Dynamo Kiev at the Lobanovskyi Stadium at 14:00 on Wednesday in the Champions League Youth League.
The young Yellow-and-Blue held a morning training session at the stadium where they will play tomorrow and made sure to dress in warm training gear in order to get acclimated with the Kiev cold. The practice was held at a very high level and a picture gallery from the session is below. After the practice the players returned to the hotel where they will have lunch and in the evening will hold a special team Hanukah candle lighting ceremony in the hotel.
The team’s coach Ziv Arie spoke at the end of the training session about playing in the cold weather conditions tomorrow: “The sun really fools you here. It looked really nice outside but after an hour it was very tough to continue to practice, and this is on a good day. The players are getting used to how the ball plays on the pitch here and every time it hits someone it really hurts. I believe they’ll get used to it by the opening whistle tomorrow.”
