Daniel Lifshitz will be making his first start of the season in the first leg of the Toto Cup Quarterfinal against Kiryat Shemona. This will be an opportunity for many of the players who don’t always get a chance to play to try and impress Head Coach Shota Arveladze. The second choice keeper spoke about that and the importance of the tournament:
“The Toto Cup is a tournament that Maccabi is participating in and of course we want to win as many competitions as we can. It’s a good chance for many of the players including myself to get a chance to play and make sure that the coach will think about us as well.”
Facing Kiryat Shemona:
“Kiryat Shemona is a tough team that I believe have won this tournament already. They’ll want to win it again and so do we. It’s an important title and it’s one trophy that Yossi Benayoun doesn’t have in his trophy case.”
Keeping sharp:
“It’s an opportunity for me to play and make use of what we do in practice all the time and this is a chance to do so in a real game. I’m happy that we have this competition to work on ourselves to keep sharp for when I’m needed.”
