A disappointing result for the Yellow & Blue after 90 minutes of football at Haberfeld Stadium as Maccabi Tel Aviv fell 1:0 to Bnei Yehuda on Matchday Eleven of the Ligat Ha’Al. Veteran defender Tal Ben Haim spoke to the media following the loss: “When you lose it’s even harder on the players. At the end of the day we had a very so-so match. Eight points is a lot. There are periods of time that are like this. This is the situation.”
About the match:
“We didn’t start out the way we wanted to. Bnei Yehuda made it difficult for us and they stayed back to defend. This isn’t the Maccabi that we want to see but we’ll learn from this and improve because we don’t have a choice. We didn’t create enough chances and the match didn’t go the way we wanted it to.”
On the future:
“There are still plenty of matches left and right now we need to improve and we have to look at ourselves. When we improve only then we can then look ahead of us. I always believe and it’s still early but we have to start improving.”
