Eyal Golasa who returned to Israel this past summer, sat down for a One-on-One interview with the Official Maccabi Website about his time so far in Yellow & Blue and began with how he feels to be here at the Club:
“I felt at home from the get go here at Maccabi, from the players, the fans and the staff which led to an easy landing and acclimation.”
On the pitch:
“At the start it wasn’t so easy and it took me time to get into the swing of things, but once things got rolling I’m very happy and satisfied that I’m here.”
Relationship with Dor Micha:
“We’re good friends and have been pals for a very long time all the way back from when we played together on the Israel National Youth Teams.”
Helping each other out:
“Everybody at Maccabi wants to help each other succeed and we have to keep that up because it’s not the case at every club. And I believe that everyone sees that on the pitch.”
Playing with confidence:
“Of course when you are given responsibility and people are relying on you, it gives you a ton of confidence. It began with the Israel National Team and continued with our Europa League matches.”
Taking advantage of opportunities:
“I made sure to keep my form because it’s not a simple thing to be a starter at Maccabi since we have a very good and deep squad. So any time you have the opportunity you have to take advantage of it.”
Career path to date:
“At every stage of my career I had various offers be it in January or during the summer. I always had the dream of seeing what it would be like playing abroad and I’m satisfied with everything I have done up to now. If you’d ask me if I would have changed anything, I can say confidently, that I would have done everything the exact same way. I’m 25 years old and I am enjoying my time here at Maccabi, everyone can see that. Everything is in the hands of God, but I’ll keep doing the best that I can and see where it leads me.”
