Sheran Yeini, the Yellow & Blue captain spoke to the assembled media at the prematch press conference ahead of the Bnei Yehuda game this Saturday evening at 20:30. The veteran discussed the upcoming opponent, returning to Israel and his thoughts about Lito Vidigal:
“We are with a person who has a lot of passion and who wants to win.”
Playing left back:
“I respect the players who can also play left back on the team and I think they are great. I will play wherever the coach decides he needs me and I’ll he’ll out where needed.”
Returning to Maccabi:
“I came back to a team that is at a very high level both professionally and personally, we are working on small details now on the pitch. How to close down an attack, placement on the pitch and other things.”
Last match against Bnei Yehuda:
“I wasn’t here, but I’m sure the club wasn’t complacent. We have to play with a full effort and you can’t get away with less against any team in the league. You always have to put in our best effort. There are always tough matches and physical ones but we have to come in prepared. Bnei Yehuda is always a tough team to face. They have plenty of desire to win and we have to play our best in order to get the best result.”
Comparing apples to oranges:
“The club has to be compared to others here in Israel and not in Holland. We all have to keep working hard to reach our goals.”
Adjusting to a new coach:
“A new coach that always comes in has new ideas and thoughts as to how to play and what to do. We had to adjust our schedule a bit to handle the training sessions but the players understand that and will do the best that we can.”
Playing for Israel:
“I have no thoughts about the National Team right now, it’s a long way off.”
Being prepared:
“We have to make sure that we come prepared to every match and we can’t look at Beer Sheva. I can guarantee that we will come into every match that remains with more than 100% effort and try our hardest.”
