Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Under-15 teams opened up training for the 2017/18 season. Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv (south) will train at Kiryat Shalom while Maccabi “Ilan” Tel Aviv (north) will be at the University. Each side will be in a competitive league as Ori David will continue on as coach of the Under-15 south squad and Asi Heber will begin his first season in charge of the Under-15 north team.
Each coach received new players from the Under-14 clubs as Performance Director Patrick van Leeuwen and assistants Raymond Atteveld and Robin Verheul were on hand for the first training session of the new season.
The Under-15 south coach Ori David was excited to get back to work: “I’m about to start my 10th year here and I’m very excited. The club is very talented and you can see that they have imbued the football philosophy that they received last season from the professional staff. We are here to help them improve. The expectation for the upcoming season is for the players to raise the level of their game and to have a good campaign.”
Asi Heber, the Under-15 north coach also commented on beginning a new season: “It’s a wonderful feeling to come back from vacation to something that we all love especially as I start my second year at the Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Department. There is a terrific challenge ahead which is to lead the Under-15 north team. My expectations for the campaign ahead is to continue to develop each and every player so that the whole team takes a step forward together.”
