The Under-17 side opened the 2017/18 season in fine fashion by dismantling Beitar Tubruk at Kiryat Shalom 5:0. Bar Cohen scored a brace with a goal in the ‘26 and a penalty in the ‘36 while Omri Ram (‘28), Tal Yogadaev (‘43) and Assayag Raava (‘44) all added single markers in the first half. Next Matchday the young Yellow & Blue head to an away encounter with Hapoel Raanana who also picked up a season opening win.
Head Coach Eliezer Ben Aharon’s squad was the first Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Department club to begin the 2017/18 campaign while the others will begin their season over the coming weeks. The U17 boss summed up the contest: “I saw the players playing exactly how we trained in our practice sessions and it’s exciting as a staff to see this in action. Today, we took the first steps in league action and we have 35 more. We looked like a team.”
