Eitan Tibi, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s central defender summed up his side’s victory over Villarreal and also looked ahead to the Israel Premier League season that gets back to action on Monday night at Maccabi Petah Tikva:
“We feel good and it wasn’t easy against players who were excellent. We have to continue this way and continue winning.”

“We all want to acknowledge the fans who came to support us. Considering how we have played of late, it’s really something to see how may fans traveled here to an away match to cheer us on. We couldn’t advance and we were eliminated a while ago already, but in the name of all of the players we want to thank the fans.”
Heart and Soul:
“Over the last few months we haven’t played good football and we haven’t looked good as well. I’m happy that even though we didn’t play our best game, we showed a lot of heart and soul which is very important. I’m happy that we were able to take the 3-points the way we did.”
Looking ahead to Maccabi Petah Tikva:
“No question that the match on Monday is extremely important and we will prepare for the game with everything we’ve got.”
