Jordi Cruyff, the Yellow & Blue Head Coach summed up his side’s disappointing 2:2 draw at Hapoel Haifa on Matchday 32 of the Israel Premier League Ligat Ha’Al”
“This is the story of our season. Very arguable second yellow card, knowing that Aaron (Schoenfeld) is a guy that goes for the ball. The Haifa player goes down and we lose it. For me it;s unbelievable. It’s part of who we are this season at deb key moments when you have it in your hands you let it go.”
Substitutions:
“It was 2:0 and we had some players with muscular problems and we made the substitutions that we needed to to refresh. Unfortunately they scored two goals from really nothing which is unbelievable and unacceptable from our part. We had it in our hands and let it go.”
Eitan Tibi coming on in place of Babin:
“I expect the players to be ready very quick especially when Babin was injured and asking for a substitution. I expect him to be ready much quicker as the team needed to defend the 2:0 lead and I expect the players to be ready on the bench to come on.”
More on the substitution:
“I turned around and told him him a few times to come on that we had an injured player and we weren’t going to play with ten men. It took a little bit longer than I wished and it’s the least important thing in the game after this result.”
Battling for the European spot:
“It’s hard for all the teams who are fighting for this place and we could have made a huge step today in the right direction to secure it and the that third spot a bit stronger but we let it escape once more this season.”
