2002/03: Beitar Jerusalem 2:3 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Two Matchdays until the end of the season as Maccabi Haifa faced Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi played at Beitar Jerusalem in Teddy Stadium. Thirty minutes after the opening whistle, the Yellow & Blue fans who made their way from Tel Aviv were in shock as David Amsalem and Andrezj Kubica scored to give the host’s a 2:0 lead and the title was put into doubt. Despite the advantage, Maccabi pulled it together when Indio Perrera scored an own goal in favor of the Yellow & Blue and then Avi Nimni stepped in. The captain’s brace in the second half gave Maccabi the win and kept them at the top of the table.
