The journey to the Europa League Group Stages continue when Maccabi Tel Aviv heads to Armenia for a date with Pyunik in Yerevan on Tuesday (19:00 Israel time) in the first leg of third round Europa League qualifying.

Potential Playoff Round Opponents Narrowed Down
Captain Sheran Yeini looked ahead to the upcoming two legged tie:
“We prepared for Pyunik and they are a tough team that will present a number of challenges. We’ll have to be strong and come into the match ready to go.”
Playing the first leg away:
“We need to get a result no matter if we are playing at home or away so we must be very focused for the contest.”
Playing Thursday and then Tuesday away:
“We’re professional footballers and we are used to not having optimum rest, we’ll rest when we can. Regardless we will be ready for this match.”
Maccabi held a training session this evening before heading to the airport for their flight to Armenia which is scheduled to land in Yerevan later tonight. On Monday they will continue preparations for Tuesday night’s match at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium and will hold a prematch press conference and final training session later on in the day.
The Yellow & Blue punched their ticket to the third round after a 4:2 aggregate victory in the two legged tie against Serbian side Radnicki and will now travel to Armenia for the first time in the club’s history to face Pyunik who defeated Tobol from Kazakhstan in the second round.
On Monday, Head Coach Vladimir Ivic and his squad will find out who their Playoff Round opponent will be should they advance at a draw that will be held in Switzerland.
