Ivic’s substitutes
There is plenty of talk about Ivic’s substitutions including when he inserted Yonatan Cohen in the 87th minute of the State Cup match against Beitar where he received the match winning goal. Coincidence? In the Beer Sheva match Ivic introduced Avi Rikan in the 63rd minute and Itay Shechter in the 68th. In the 70th minute Shechter assisted on Rikan’s goal.
Saborit’s contribution on the attack
A lot of credit is due to Enric Saborit for his past performances. The Spaniard assisted on Yonatan Cohen’s match winner at Teddy Stadium and his goal yesterday was not only the second of the contest but his second of the season, the most by any Maccabi defender so far this campaign.
Although this Matchday is not yet over, Saborit has the most attempts on target by any left back in the league with 4.
In the match against Maccabi Petah Tikva a miscommunication between Saborit and Rajkovic resulted in a corner that led to the dramatic tying goal. Since then, Rajkovic has stopped a key penalty in the State Cup match versus Beitar and Saborit paid back his debt with a goal and an assist in the last couple of matches.
