Boni Ginzburg, Avi Cohen’s good friend spoke about what his special characteristics were as a person and as a player:

“Many people felt the same way I do that Avi was their best friend and that says everything about Avi. It didn’t matter what his role was or his standing but Avi was a simple and modest person and when he was at his peak he remained that way. He was just a fantastic person.”
