Laying the cornerstone

In September of 1960 the cornerstone was set for the new stadium which was to built in place of Basa Stadium.
Stadium Opening

The brand new stadium was opened to the general public which would hold 22,000 spectators.
First home match at Bloomfield
October 12, 1963
Before hosting matches at the stadium on a regular basis, the Yellow & Blue held their first home contest against Bnei Yehuda which resulted in a 1:0 win thanks to a goal by Itzhak Nachmias.
Maccabi moves into Bloomfield
January 1, 1969
Maccabi left the Macccabiah Stadium and moved into Bloomfield in the 1969/70 season.
5 Goal Derby
January 24, 1970
Maccabi hosted one of the most famous matches in its history when they defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 5:0 in the Derby.
End of the First Era
January 1, 1985
Maccabi departed Bloomfield for the National Stadium in Ramat Gan where they would play most of the 80’s and 90’s.
Ramat Gan Out, Jaffa In
August 12, 1995
After many seasons at Ramat Gan Stadium, Maccabi returned to Bloomfield for the 1995/96 campaign. And what a season it was winning a historic Double.
Nimni’s Championship Winner
May 11, 1996
Maccabi secured the league title on their way to the Double thanks to Avi Nimni’s goal in a 1:0 win over Beitar Jerusalem.
Bloomfield once again
August 12, 2000
The Yellow & Blue moved back once again to Bloomfield at the start of the 2000/01 season and played there until the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
The Biggest Win
January 13, 2001
Maccabi recorded their biggest win in the stadium’s history with a 10:1 victory over Ironi Rishon Le’Zion.
Removing the fences
September 2, 2000
A decision was made in the middle of the 2000 season that the febces surrosuding the pitch would be removed and that the concrete pavilliosn would be replaced with seats lowering the capacity to 14,413.
The last match

Maccabi defeated Maccabi Haifa 6:0 on the final matchday of the 2015/16 season which was the last contest at Bloomfield until the grand opening of the new stadium.
We’re back!
After hosting in Netanya for three seasons, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived and Maccabi are coming home to Tel Aviv. Starting this season, we will host matches at the transformed 29,185-seat Bloomfield Stadium in what will be a fourth term at the ground.
