Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv, the club’s under-18 team scored a late equaliser against hosts Bnei Sakhnin on Saturday for a 1-1 draw.
Maccabi dominated proceedings and had a goal disallowed in the 45th minute but the visitors’ inability to score allowed the hosts to take the lead in the 64th minute.
Nadav Nidam, who came on as substitute in the second half, scored the equaliser in the 76th minute from a long-range free kick.
The result has seen Maccabi accrue seven points from their five matches so far in the league.

Among the junior teams, Maccabi Tel Aviv “Oded”, the A team registered a whopping 7-1 win over hosts Hapoel Beersheba. They led 4-0 at the break and wrapped up a comfortable victory with two goals from David Turgeman and one each by Aner Oshmandi, Uri Halevy, Mohammed Abu Iyash, Aviv Peles and Eliran Lazler.
The junior B team, Maccabi Tel Aviv “Eli Fuchs” lost 3-2 to hosts Hapoel Hadera, with Orel Baia scoring twice for the visitors.
The junior C team, Maccabi Tel Aviv “Eldad” also played away and scored a convincing 6-1 win over Ironi Modiin to maintain their perfect league record after three outings. Agam Hanoun and Ido Dalal got Maccabi off to a good start in the first half and Yoav Glikopf, Tal Scharfman with two and Osher Bruchim added the other goals.
