Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Brazilian-born goalkeeper, Daniel Tenenbaum, kept his 11th consecutive clean sheet of the season and 12th overall after the 1-0 away win over Hapoel Kiryat Shmona and has set a new mark of 1,083 minutes without conceding a goal.
“I am very happy about breaking the record, but the joy belongs to the entire team. All the players worked to make this happen,” he said after the match.
But Tenenbaum wasn’t getting carried away with the achievement. “This is only one game, we are pleased with the three points and we’ll have to continue to work hard.”
He said that he had some thoughts about the impending record achievement before the game, although those thoughts were banished once the game got under way.
“It was a very tough game, Kiryat Shmona played well but we will continue to do what we do best,” Tenenbaum said.
