Sheran Yeini, Maccabi’s captain and one of the players who returned to action after a long layoff through injury said after the 3-2 State Cup defeat to Umm El Fahm that the result would leave a long-lasting blemish on the club’s memory but that they would have to learn from it for the future.
“We will do the analysis later, but I can say that this is a day we do not want to remember, although we will definitely have to keep it in our minds,” Yeini said.
“It is a bad day for Maccabi Tel Aviv. We have experienced days like this in the past and we are good enough for it not to happen, but I am sorry that it has.”
